From the Vicar.....

In August I was fortunate to be able to travel to Norwich and visit the Church containing ‘the Cell’ where Julian of Norwich lived. Today the Cell looks like a side chapel to the main church, but still retaining the hole in the wall through which she would be passed the bread and wine of communion.
Sitting in the silence of the place felt very special; reflecting on how much prayer had gone on in the space. There was a stone engraved with the words: “God, of thy goodness, give me Thyself; for Thou art enough for me..."
The stillness of the church is in stark contrast to my current surroundings, for as I write this there is the noise of chainsaws and a wood chipper as work progresses in the vicarage garden to remove some of the trees.
Like the external noises of the world around us, sometimes the inner noise can mean we loose focus of what is most important, what is true about us.
To prevent the hustle and bustle of life drowning out the voice of God, perhaps we need to hear those words to each of us afresh
“God, of thy goodness, give me Thyself; for Thou art enough for me..."
